Description: The Lisp Machine engineering started as research and was developed and studied by the artificial intelligent research. The standard platform for Lisp before Lisp machines was a PDP-10. However, it is known that a Lisp program could turn a KL-10 into unusable junk for everyone else. Lisp became technically able to be done to build cheaper hardware that would run lisp easier than on regular computers. The technological push was definitely from the top down; to run a big resource lisp program more cheaply. Lisp machines were for everyone to use. Some make life easier for programmers, because lisp would use whatever resources it had available. All codes on these systems are in Lisp simply because that was the easiest and the cheapest way to provide a system on this new hardware.
